1968 - Coleco Canada

In 1968, Coleco purchased the Montreal-based Eagle Toys , a toy company founded by Ben Stein. After the transaction, Coleco decided to keep the Eagle Toys manufacture located at the 4020 St-Ambroise in Montreal, a place now known as the Château St-Ambroise, and make it its Canadian head office. Coleco Canada would remain in this location until Coleco would file for bankruptcy and sold his remaining asset to Hasbro in 1989.

During their time in Canada, Coleco used the Montreal as their Canadian distribution center. Between 1976 and 1989, Coleco Canada distributed most of Coleco’s video game consoles and games such as the Telstar series, the ColecoVision and the mini-arcades. In 1977, Coleco Canada even release a Canadian exclusive console called the Telstar Deluxe.
